Fishing Gear Magazine is about the guides, captains and gear serious anglers trust. It is published by Market Share Media, and its directory lists fishing businesses of every kind: guides and charters, tackle shops, brands and makers, products and gear.

How businesses join the directory

Businesses join the directory by editor approval or by recommendation from someone already listed. Every listing shows who recommended it, so readers can follow the chain of trust.

Editorial features cannot be bought. They describe how a business works, not what any trip or product will deliver. Being listed is not an endorsement or a guarantee of fishing results.

Directory listings

Guides, charters, tackle shops, brands and gear makers can apply for a directory listing. Listings carry a one-time $1 fee, which keeps spam out of the directory, and every listing is checked by an editor before it goes live.

Gear reviews and partners

Gear is tested on the water by the editors. When a reviewed product comes from a partner of the magazine, a partner disclosure appears at the top of the review.

Sponsored articles

Businesses in the fishing world can buy a sponsored article. Every sponsored article is reviewed by the editors and published with a visible Sponsored label naming who paid for it.

Preview edition

This site is a preview of the first issue. The businesses, people, products and stories shown are fictional samples and will be replaced when Issue 01 is published.
